Less Emissions
Turboheat does not affect the emissions in any way. The reason for this is that the technology used to regulated the active flue outer surface temp does not drop below 120 degrees Celsius so the flue stays hot to allow a secondary combustion of pm10 (emissions) with the initial banking of heat in our exchanger. This heat banking allows the flue to increase in temperature more than the standard drafting that takes place with standard triple skin flueing, this keeps the inner flue free of creosote. Authorised Independent testing has shown that our Turboheat system has no detrimental effect on flue emissions and in some testing improved the reduction of emissions by over 10%, creating an increase in secondary burning of the pm10 before emitting into the atmosphere.
Greenhouse emissions footprint.
Wood heaters deliver low greenhouse emissions and cheapest running costs for domestic heating in Australia. Contrary to what many people believe, wood heating provides the cheapest form of domestic heating, and also delivers the smallest greenhouse footprint.
To reducing smoke emissions allow full air for 15-20 minutes after each refueling.
Do not close down air supply totally overnight – a little air avoids a lot of smoke.
Temperature range
Turboheat does vary depending on the type of heater you have under it. (Please consult a turboheat specialist about a heater before purchasing). Turboheat is unique when it comes to temperature. The installer will preset the turn on temperature at approximately 70 – 80 degrees with a turn off temperature of 34 degrees. This will give us an average temperature of 35 degrees over a 50 – 60 minute period. We want the turboheat system to turn off so it is able to regenerate its heat and duct it again. This repeating process will bring your whole house to a comfortable temperature of 21- 22 degrees celsius. It will get hotter if you burn your heater hotter.
Air Circulation
There is a function to operate the fan only from Turboheat when the fire is not going. This enables the user to take the air from the room, and transfer that air to the other areas of the home. Just like ceiling fans would do. This function is standard on Turboheat, so there is no extra cost for the function. If you are looking at some sort of cooling, Turboheat can double up to be a heating and cooling system with the correct installation requirements.
Refrigerated reverse cycle system is used for air-conditioning but is an extra. The 2 systems are able to be combined to run through the same ducting saving you money and extra holes cut in your ceiling.
Hot Water
Depending on what heater you buy hot water can be ran through a hot water jacket on the heater system. (Extra Option) . Nectre mega has a great hot water jacket if you decide to do this.
Brick Chimney
Turboheat can go in a brick chimney but we recommend you not to. The reasons for this is there is a lot of work involved and in most cases the chimneys are not suited.
How ever if you choose to go down this path, this is what you will have to do. 1. The brick chimney needs to be pulled down to ceiling height. 2. There has to be no bends needed.  This is because the turboheat heat exchanger with
built in flue pipe is straight.
3. The brick chimney needs to be cleaned inside.
4. A clearance of 12″ is required in the brick cavity for the air to heat up with no airflow
restriction.
5. An air intake needs to be provided minimum of 350x350mm.  The return air hole has to
be cut into brick chimney space so the air can be sucked into the chimney to heat up. Most of turboheat’s inbuilt system are specifically built around the fire and turboheat’s heat exchanger system.
Ducting
Turboheat can tap into your existing ducting as long as it is not evaporative airconditioning ducting. You will have to make sure that the ducting is rated R1 or R1.5.
Turboheat air delivery is a Max: 800 l/sec volume, this is from a fan speed at 100%.
Although it seems like a small amount, it can actually supply up to 14 vents comfortably.
Turboheat can be zoned manually or by a automated system ran off an app.
To manually zone turn each vent off at the actual vent its self. You must always have at least 6 vents operating all the time.
The more advanced system is ran off an app or control pad. these system are expensive but great to run. You can have full control over your house. this automated zoning system can adjust the airflows to each room, as well as zoning off sections of the home by a simple touch of a button.
